The Nursery serves families of children from 6 weeks to three years old. When the child is old enough they may move up into the OLS preschool program housed in the elementary school.

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Our program runs year round, only closing for major holidays.

The Nursery has one fee schedule which allows families to use as many or as few days/hours as they wish. There is no extra charge for extended hours, our fee includes all hours from 7am until 7pm.

Parents are encouraged to visit their children during the day. We have an open door policy and invite parents to join their children for a visit or for lunch as well as for special activities and events.

The Nursery has a secure fenced in play yard with age appropriate equipment. The children go outside at least twice daily when weather permits.

At The Nursery, morning, afternoon and late day snacks are provided. Lunch can be brought from home or can be ordered, at a small fee, from the elementary school on days that school is in session. On First Fridays, pizza can be ordered through The Nursery.

All families are provided secure access to our webcams at no additional charge. Families are given a unique user name and passcode which allows them to view the cameras live or retrieve archived video for up to seven days.

The Nursery is only a short three block walk to the South Orange train station. Enrolled familes may request a parking permit from the director which allows them use the church parking lot for commuter parking. There is no additional charge for this service.

The staff at The Nursery are required to be certified in CPR and first aid.

Our maximum ratio in the infant room is 1:4 and in the toddler room is 1:6. Many times the ratios are lower than these maximums.

The Nursery offers a 5% discount off of the each child's tuition when two or more children attend The Nursery. If you have a child attending Our Lady of Sorrows School, you will receive a 5% discount off the tuition of the child who attends The Nursery.

Our front door is equipped with a secure code access system. Each family is assigned a unique code allowing them entry into The Nursery. Visitors must ring the bell and be escorted into the building.  To exit the building a button must be pressed  to open the front doors, preventing children from being able to exit without a parent or adult.   Our other doors are locked and cannot be opened except by a key or from inside. Except for the front doors, accessible exterior doors have alarms that sound if opened from inside.
